I've been saying this for a while now, especially every time I hit "guide" on our remote to see what's on the old picture box. There is literally a reality show for every effing thing!
You name it. Shows about crab fishing, shark hunting, swamp people (I don't even want to know), rednecks, hillbillies, gypsies, rich people, nannies, Persians, men from Boston who still live with their parents, teen moms, Kardashians, people who eat weird things, people who do weird things, people who hoard things, people who have addictions, are obese, have weird moms, are looking for a lost loved one, have a cat from hell, need a dog whisperer, need someone to decorate their home, sell their home, renovate their home, flip a home, buy a home, rent a home, have a weird home, have a nice home, own a pawn shop, own a storage unit company, auction off other people's garbage, people who work at an airport, a club, tattoo shop, can sing, can't sing, think they can sing... Literally, think of something and there is a reality show for it.
The other night a show called D.U.I caught my attention. Really? A show that follows people who are getting DUIs?! Who agrees to be on that show?? And they sign a waiver and agree to be taped for a reality show at what point when they are getting arrested? How can they consent while drunk?
It's no wonder I end up stuck watching an entire day of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It's like being the best of the worst. I long for the days of old episodes of The Real World (when they actually had real jobs and real fights), or Temptation Island, Average Joe, Joe Millionaire and that awesome show with the actor who pretended to be a total loser and had to convince that teacher to marry him -- My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance! Loved that one! I just wish the RHOC or RHBH filmed 24/7 year-round so we could all enjoy awesome, authentic, unscripted reality TV all the time.

Things that annoy me: Online shopping edition
Now, let's be honest... I've been too lazy to compose a blog post about ANYTHING these past 8 or so months. But I am going to try. Stealing this idea from my friend Jennifer at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.
I placed a Bath and Body works order this morning and was quickly reminded of the little things that irk me about online shopping.
1. Stalking the sh*t out of me regarding my order
When I placed my order this morning, I received no less than three e-mails confirming my order. Throughout the week of actually receiving a Bath and Body works order, the e-mails will go something like this (may or may not be exaggerated) Thank you for your order, we've received your order, we've processed your order, we've shipped your order, track your order, your order is at your door, how was your order?, fill out this survey about your order, and WHO knows what else...Just give me my damn candles and shut up already!
2. Order shows up at my door with no communication at all
On the flip side, I also hate when I order something and don't hear a peep from the company. I never know if my order has been received unless it shows up on my credit card statement. And I never know if it has shipped until it shows up at the door. I despise trying to remember when I ordered something, checking to make sure it's shipped, etc. It shouldn't be that hard to send an e-mail that you received my order and then one e-mail with the tracking information once it's shipped! Not rocket science people.
3. Unsubscribe me already dammit
What is worse than trying to unsubscribe to something only to get another e-mail telling me that I have asked to unsubscribe? I recently somehow accidentally subscribed to some Rue Lala Kids garbage e-mails on my Gmail account - which show up on my phone. They sent me probably 3 e-mails a day. I tried to unsubscribe about 5 times. They'd send an e-mail telling me that I unsubscribed yet I continued to get e-mails. I am not sure if I still get them or if they go into my spam filter now. Either way, it made me not want to ever shop there! I want to actually unsubscribe and not just put them into my spam. Although maybe I should rethink that as most marketing companies charge per e-mail sent out so they probably are spending money to spam me. Ha!
4. Get it together already
I recently received an e-mail thanking me for my new Jeep purchase. Yea, we bought a new car back in July 2010. So, you are just a little bit late. Although now I will take the opportunity to e-mail this sales schmuck back and tell him about all the things that I haven't been happy with this past year! Working in marketing, I hate getting e-mails that contain typos (from huge companies), e-mails that contain wrong information or e-mails that are poorly timed, like this one from my car dealership that showed up 15 months after buying the car. It just makes your company look stupid and careless.
And this concludes my first edition of Things that annoy me... Many more to come! Toodles.
